Foodie Delights-Best Afghani Chicken- Kebabs & Curries

Kebabs & Curries, is quite a Popular & well known, Take away  & Home Delivery restaurant, Located in the R-Block,GK- 1 market. Known for its specialisaton in Kebabs & Mughlai Food..Its been present for a good 13-14 years. Being very close to my place, have ordered food mainly for Home Delivery or for a bite in the Car... Recommended Snack  is the Afghani Chicken

I rate it as one of the Best Afghani Chickens in town...Making a Good Afghani Chicken is quite a task... Many a Places have spoiled his dish by the Cream coat on the Chicke making the Chicken too dry & void of any Juices..A Good afghani Chicken, the thick coating of the Masala nicely mixes with the Chicken juice & makes it a thick viscous coat, making it a great treat for the taste buds.... a Great craft is required, to ensure that the coat is not too thick & overpowering

Taste of heaven...The best recommended

The nice& greasy masala & the Chicken juice mix so nicely

Do try the Afghani Chicken.Even the Seekh Kabab is slightyly spicy...For the Curries, well you can try on your own

Foodie Delights -Changezi Chicken@ Malviya Nagar

Located Just Outside the Famous Kareems Restaurant, In Malviya Nagar, a small roadside take away shnaty is Changezi Chicken Corner.. This Place specialises in Chicken Fry, Chicken Lollypops & Chicken Changezi...Looking at the number of Orders getting packed & the no of people coming just to have a bite of the Popular Chicken Fry, it seems that we have come at the Right place to get our fill of a quick snack

The Small Counter selling Fried Chicken by the Kilos
The Chicken Lollypop is sold by weight - at 320/ for a Kilo, the min one can buy is 250gms.. Chicken Fry is served in pieces -
Looks like a Chicken Bazaar, half done stuff ready for a deep fry

One Quarter of Chicken is One Large Piece of Chicken, and  2 Large Pieces make for one half of the wonderful bird..Priced a Rs 60 for a quarter Chicken- which broken down is almost 4-5 small to medium pieces of deeply fried divine stuff

The Chicken fry & Spicy Lollypops in my plate
Served with a Liberal dose of Fresh Onions, some excellent Chutney, goes as a perfect ganishing for the dish. The Curd based Chutney deserves specail mention & just adds to the great taste..

We order for one more piece of Chicken Fry ...hmm the taste is too overpowering.....The Chicken however is a little dry & may be a dash less juicy than the one you will probably get at Jamia Nagar or Jama Masjid, but the taste is still great

Next we Order the Chicken Seekh Kababs.. To be Honest, at first I had my doubts about Ordering a seekh kabab from such a place.. With Fried stuff its ok, as anything which is deep fried at such a high temp, leavs very remote chances for any bacteria to survive..But all my apprehensions were laid to rest when i had my first bite of the divine seekh...hmm yummy...Correct amunt of spice, correct amount of Softness & juicy....

Look at what the Seekh Kabab looked like..Probably rate it as high as the one at Rajinder ka Dhaba

Do take time & visit when in Malviya Nagar..Highly Recommended

Thai Shack@ Kailash Colony

Located in the Main Kailash Colony Market, & Opened Recently is a Nice & Small Thai Eatery Called Thai Shacks. This place is predominantly a Take away & Free Home Delivery Outlet . It also has some 2-3 Tables to accommodate some guests who may drop by for a snack

I start with the Highly recommended Kothe Momos. The Service is Prompt and within 5 minutes i receive my order of Hot & Fresh Momos.... The First bite was enough to tell me that I am in for a great taste ride.. The Momos, were Crispy Fried on One side & soft steamy on the Other Side, The Momos are sauted with a light Oil on the Pan & then served, quite a different treatment from the Normal Momos that we are served. Nicely Crisp, Soft on ones side, each bite filled with Juices....One of the best & Light Momos I have eaten...

The Juicy, succulent  crsipy Kothe Momos

Then i Ordered a Great sounding dish called the Nasigorang... This is an Indonesian Spiced rice & this is how it looks
The Fiery & Spicy, Indonesian NaziGoran Rice

Served with a Fried Egg on top of the Rice, The NasiGorang, strange sounding in name, but packed quite a Punch with the Spices ... The Chicken & shrimps are nicely tossed & Mixed with the rice ...  The Flavor of Fresh Basils ad greatly to the spicy &hot taste of the NasiGorang

Do Visit Or Order from Thai Shack, when in mood for a Nice Spicy Thai meal

Not Just Parathas @ GK 2

Located in the Busy & Upmarket Greater Kailash- Part 2 Market, Not Just Parathas or NJP, as its being referred to , does live upto its name but not exactly in terms of the Food.... Located in the Corner, just next to Dominoes Pizza... The Entrance to the Restaurant does give one some fair idea of what to expect.... There is a Huge Wooden Darwaaza, Probably the One you would find in Old Havelis or Movie sets.....The ambience looks just perfect for a Lazy Sunday Lunch.... The Place is Decked up with Yester Years Bollywood Film Posters of the Reigning queens of those years, Nargis & Madhubala....There is some amazing Old Hindi Film Music Playing in the Background

Exquisite Menu of Not Just Parathas

There seems to be a whole world built around the Parathas, I must say even the Menu Card was quite Innovative & strikingly different...The Parathas are served in 2 Sizes 6” & 9”....Vow My Mom would have never known it,, and also at home You are never supposed to measure or Count your food....”Buri Nazar lagti hai..” The Parathas are served either Tandoori or the Traditional Tawa Fried Ones.... The variety of Parathas is Humungous, Chicken Keema, Mutton Keema, Chicken Omelette, NJP Spl Egg Paratha, which is a Warqi Paratha with all the Layers deep Coated with Egg & deep Fried...absolute Divine in taste.... We started off with the Chicken Shorba which is a Nice, Clear Home made kind of a Soup... Nicely spiced with Garam Masala, lots of Coriander, its supposed o be a real warmer for winters & keeps cold away .. We ordered the Egg Bhurji, Chicken Tikka, Egg Paratha, Chicken Keema Parathas.... Probably the Chicken Tikka & the NJP Special Egg Paratha was the best out of all the 4-5 varieties we tried.....
We also tried the Chicken Pizza Paratha – which is nothing but a Thicker Paratha cooked long over the Pan, & with the basic Pizza Stuffings of Capsicum, Onion & Chicken Put on Top of the Crisp Pizza Paratha Base – Different & nice, Pizza Topping on the Desi Paratha
Do come definitely for the Experience..you might go down the Bollywood memory Lane & Try the Shorba, Pizza Parathas & the NJP Special.....Word of Caution – Try the Tawa Fried instead of the Tandoori...coz Parathas were never part of a Diet Food...
