Dunkin Donuts- The New Happening Donut Place

Just Visited Dunkin Donuts, newly Opened Outlet in the bustling, Hip, Happening, mecca of Consumerism - The Famous M- Block, GK-1 Market,of South Delhi  last week. Dunkin Donuts, are one of the leading Chains of the US, who pioneered & leveraged the Franchise Concept, perfected by McDonalds, and used it to Build this Global Brand in the Food Business ... Personally I am not too big a Fan of Donuts & dont have any such fascination for Donuts ..... But as they say, "All Foodies may always not be the same" so for the special ones who have a Sweet Tooth - Donuts offer something exciting to Us ...

Different Reasons for People to Love this ... Variety of Colors, Beautiful Round Shape , quite bit like the World ... The Donuts are round like the world, and Like Life, they too have many many different Colors ....Enough of Philosophy, do check the Photographs of the Donuts .......A Visual Treat ......

"You can get Donut in any shape, as long as they are Round"

Colorful world of Donuts !!!!!!!

Just like the world ...Round but many Colors & faces....

Arza Bibi Kebabs - Khan Market

Arza Biwi Kebabs, Khan Market, is the new Hip Hop Destination for having your Favorite Tandoori Snacks, in an almost Pub Like Ambience sans the drinks .... Newly Opened Joint, having a Limited seating capacity of about 5-6 Tables, 10-12 Persons at the most. Almost like a Quick Service Restaurant, with a Dine in Option... The Ambience is quite nice, with a Pub Like feel, Nice Fast paced western music, taastefully done decor, with Bright Lights, and a Classic Wood work, with some ethnic design work being done on the frames

This will Buzz when your Order is ready

They have some Interesting Concept which i quite liked . You will get a small pad for your table once you place your Orders .. This small pad, will buzz when your Order is ready.... Never knew Mughlai & Tandoori food could be Presented in this techno fashion

Brightly Lit Ambience & decoration

The Menu is quite limited & reasonable . They have Tikkas, Seekh Kababs, Kakori & Galouti (Only Mutton), a couple of Gravy Items in the Non Veg Main Course .. Not too much experiment ... Same with Vegetarian, Couple of Gravy items & variety of options - Soya, Veg, Paneer, Mushroom, to chose from

Hmmmmmm.... Eating Time

Loved the Mutton Tikkas...just right

I ordered the Mutton Tikkas & realy enjoyed it. Generally avoid ordering Mutton Tikkas, as mutton being less tender than a Chicken, takes time to Cook up, and may take even more time in the Tandoor.. But here i was in for a pleasent surprise .. Mutton was well done... I like my meat to have bit of bite & not the too soft & chewy types...so for me,the tikka was just right

a good experience in all ..do visit, when in khan market next, to see how the good old tikka, goes pop & hip hop at arza bibi kebabs

Lebanese Food- Kabirz @ Nehru Place

Lebanese Food has largely remained unexplored in India & given its immense Popularity in Middle East, where the Cultural & fashion trends, get somehwhat synergised with India pretty soon, Its a bit surprising to see the slow adoption & slower popularisation of this Menu .... Amongst the Foreign Cusines, which are prevalent in India, Chinese, followed by Italian - with Japanese, Mexican & Now lebanese makins some presence felt ..Actually, we still have very select Restaurants offering Lebanese Menu .... Arabian Nites, (Defence Colony , South Delhi) is one of the Oldest Lebanese restaurants.... Zaitoon, Lebanes Point @ Saket, and now Kabirz, @ Nehru Place, Food Court, are some of the Popular restaurants offering Lebanese Cusines

And Contrary to Popular belief, Lebanes Cusines, is quite right for the Health Conscious people, with Baking, Grilling being the Key Cooking Process - 3of Their Classic Dishes make use of the Baking, Grilling Process .. The Ultimate in Breads is the Fatayer ... A kind of snadwich, which is filled with the stuffings of yooru Choice - Chicken, Cheese, Sausage, Veggies, and baked to Perfection ..These are then served with Hummus (The famous dip, made out of boiled & grounded Chickpeas, lots of garlic, Lime juice) - Taatki (a dip made of Hung Curd, Lots of Garlic, Onions), Pickled Vegtrables, and you have a Nice, healthy meal

The famous Shawarma, again is made of a stuffing of the shredded Chicken, which is mounted on a slow grill & the chicken filling is added with lots of Tomatoes, Onions, Corianders, Cream Dips etc....served againg with Hummus, Taatki

BabbunaGoush, a classic Lebanese dish, is made out of roasting the Brinjal /Egg plant to perfection & having it with some nice dips ...

The Chicken Fatayer ....

The Kimmeh, is a Heavy lebanese Snack, which is made out of deep frying Meat Mince Balls ..... The Meat Balls, however, have a nice gap, created, which is stuffed with the minced meat , and this remains soft & juicy, while the Out side crust becomes nice & crispy

Classic Shawarma....

Biryani at Jamia, Batla House !!!!

Jamia Milia IslamiaUniversity, is as famous for the Intellectual Capital that this university has produced, as the whole slew of eateries serving some deicious & lip smacking, non vegetarian food stuff .. The University is abode to thousands of students, and the surrounding area is inhabited mainly by the Muslims, which are again second to none in terms of their Cusine, their love for food & hospitality ....

This area around Jamia attracts Non vegetarian food lovers from across Delhi, with so many shops & small eateries dishing out real fresh & scrumptous dishes. A Word of Caution ::::: This food is not for the Light hearted, Calorie Counting Sorts ....coz the food here is simply one hell of  Greasy & calorie laden guilt.....So watch out ..... One such PLace near the rather Ill famous Batla House, near jamia, is the Al Nawaz Restaurant .... Almost allways full, you can see people having their fill of the most delectable dishes ... The Dum Chicken Biryani, The Chicken Kurma, the famous, must have "Chicken Changezi" , The "to die for Chicken Fry" - I am sure, on Plain taste, The Chicken Fry sold in such numerous, small eateries of delhi, especially the Muslim eateries, can anyday beat the Likes of KFC, Brosters Buddy Chicken...Its just that somebody needs to do a good job of packaging , Hygiene, Presentation & Voila !!!! you will see Indias Global answer to KFC soon ... The smell of the batter is just too tempting to ignore....

Mr Sant Singh Chatwal, has Americans literally eating out of his hand, with the One Dollar Curry, I imagine what woudl happen, if somebody could give the americans a taste of the Real Chicken Kurma...

The Phirnee is toooo goddddd.....

The Dips add that bite to the flavorsome Biryani

The Show Stopper

This One is quite unusually different from the Awadhi Dum Biryanis - The Cooking process is similar, but the change of spices does the trick ...Instead of an Overdependence on expensive Spices Like Cardamom, Cinamom, Saffron the resturant use a lot of black pepper, Cumin, Lime, Dhaniya, Cloves and with the Dum process employed with these spices, there is a whole new dimesnion to the Biryani & is quite well done .... For Rs 50/ for a Plate, youi cant ask the whole world, Can you ????

Do try when you are around Jamia --- This is one of the More hygieneic ones in that area, I am sure you cant even think of going to other places there - The dirty job of finding the good ones, yours truly will happily oblige & update in next post

Happy Eating !!!

Late night Coffee@Barista

Late Night Coffees after Dinner, actually help serve a lot of Purpose. One it aids in the Digestion Process after a heavy meal, and for those who have not been satiated with their Dinner, it provides an opportunity  actually have some nice desserts or a lite bite to complete the unstaisfied meal ... Even Otherwise, Coffee Drinking has taken on a whole new meaning in India, especially the last deacde and a half ... Coffee Drinking has really come of age and that too big time .. A far cry from the Days of Filter Coffee to the Powdere and Chikori mixed Coffees by Nescafe & the other brands .. Coffee drinking, as a Concept, has been always associated with Novelty, Intelligentsia, the adobe of Classes, thinkers, writers (No Bloggers Like Me), who would meet at the Coffee Homes in the City, and dwell for hours together, chatting, debating, discussing ...

With a Total Domestic Coffee Consumption of 80,000 Tons per year as against 9,00,000 Tons of tea , India Clearly is a Tea Drinkers Market .. With the average, Tea to Coffee Consumption Ration being 11:1, Indians still have a long way before they could be a Coffee Nation, But things are Changing fast now, Today India has a Total of 1870 Coffee Retailing Outlets, mainly all the Franchise models of Leading Brands like, Cafe Cofee Day, Barista, Costa Coffee, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf ....against just 40 Odd Tea Bars or Cha Bars....Coffee Drinking is about the Experience, its also about being able to feel free & doing your thing .... WiFi / Internet usage in most of the Outlets, makes it a Social Platform for the young, urban Indians to channelise their thoughts & creativity
Accroding to a Survey Report, Capuccino & Latte are the 2 most Popular Coffees which sell close to 67% of the Coffees sold at these Joints...Capuccino is basically one Part Coffee, One Part Water, One Part Milk. Cafe Latte is one Part Coffe & two Parts Milk..While the Other Coffees, Espresso is a Pure shot of Coffee to be had neat. whereas Machiato is Espresso with some Frothy milk...

Capuccino....

Standing Tall ....Cuppa Cappuccino

This what you dont get at other Places or something that may not go too well with a Tea or CHA Bar - The Yummy Pizza

Some Fries to go along with it
